🌍 Strengthening Ties in Central Asia: EDF international networks at the Heart of Kazakhstan’s Energy Future

Dominique Piarrou Cazalaa recently took part in a strategic visit to Kazakhstan, alongside Mr. Bernard Fontana and a broad EDF delegation, on the occasion of the French-Kazakh Investment Forum and the Astana International Forum 2025.

This mission was a valuable opportunity to represent the Group’s expertise in energy distribution, gain deeper insight into local challenges, and engage with key institutional, governmental, and international financial stakeholders.

EDF international networks strategic outlook and capabilities were presented during high-level discussions involving both Kazakh decision-makers and international partners. The wider diplomatic and economic engagement was underlined by the presence of Minister Laurent Saint-Martin, with whom the delegation had the opportunity to exchange during the forum.

A dynamic country with clear ambitions, Kazakhstan presents substantial opportunities and EDF international networks is ready to contribute to this momentum. 🤝

At the 2025 edition of Enlit Africa, we had the opportunity to share our experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects, notably those we’ve led in India.

🗨️ Our VP Africa Middle East, Sébastien Louison explains:

« I am proud to have represented EDF International Networks at the 2025 edition of ENLIT Africa, where I had the opportunity to present EDF International Networks AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) projects in India. These initiatives can serve as a source of inspiration for Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in Africa — both in terms of the technologies used and the financing models implemented.

When a DSO has to implement an AMI project, it’s not always easy — in some cases, it might be unique. That’s why EDF International Networks stands alongside DSOs to help make their projects a success.”
