⚡🌍Over the past six months, EDF International Networks has contributed to projects across several countries, supporting rural electrification, network modernization, digital transformation, smart metering, and renewable energy integration.

Here’s a look back at some of the initiatives that have shaped our first semester. 👇

🌏 AMI programs are not just about deploying smart meters. Their success depends on robust system integration, effective data management, and the ability of utilities to adapt their operations to a more digital and data-driven environment.
 
🔹 To support this transformation, EDF International Networks India, in partnership with BGPL, delivered a two-day technical pre-OGL training program in Rajkot for around 80 engineers from PGVCL, with the participation of RECPDCL and EY.
 
The sessions focused on the key components of an AMI ecosystem, including Head-End Systems (HES), Meter Data Management (MDM), Workforce Management (WFM), consumer applications, system interfaces, and end-to-end AMI architecture. Beyond technology, discussions addressed operational workflows, data governance, and the practical challenges utilities face when scaling smart metering programs.
 
At EDF International Networks, we see AMI as a strategic enabler for distribution utilities, helping transform metering data into actionable insights, improve operational performance, and support the digitalization of power networks.

🌍Join us in Paris for the Conference on Grids in Transition Europe: From Energy Ambition to System Delivery

We are pleased to be part of this event bringing together industry leaders and experts to discuss the future of electricity networks across Europe.
On this occasion, Mathieu Carluer, from EDF International Networks, will share our experience on how to leverage Storage, Smart Grids, and Flexibility for System Reliability, from the Perspective of Evolving Distribution Control Rooms.

🔹 As distribution networks become increasingly complex, integrating flexibility resources, energy storage, and smart grid solutions is essential to ensure reliability and operational excellence. Mathieu Carluer will explore how control rooms must evolve to address these new challenges and opportunities.

🌍 Supporting SBEE – Société Béninoise d'Energie Electrique in Defining Benin’s Electricity Network through 2040

EDF International Networks has launched a strategic project alongside SBEE to develop the master plan for Benin’s primary substations and medium-voltage (MV) distribution networks through 2040.

This initial mission laid the technical and methodological foundations of the study, with two key objectives: ensuring a coherent long-term vision for the development of the power network and sustainably strengthening SBEE’s capabilities through a comprehensive knowledge transfer program.

👏 Our experts worked closely with SBEE engineers to familiarize them with the tools and methodologies that will be used throughout the project, while also initiating the first operational activities related to network data collection and analysis.

👉 Over the next two years, the study will:
🔹 Forecast electricity demand growth through 2040;
🔹 Define the target network architecture and future substation requirements;
🔹 Identify priority investments and establish an implementation roadmap;
🔹 Support investment decisions through robust technical and economic analyses.
