🔹 For another year, EDF International Networks is pleased to take part in IEEE PowerTalks 2026, bringing our expertise and experience in electricity distribution networks to discussions shaping the future of the power sector.
This year, our colleague Naïm Echarach, Head of Business Development – North Africa / Middle East, will join Session Three – “Distribution Systems” to present:
👉 “DERMS: Supporting DSOs in Managing Distributed Energy Resources and Grid Flexibility”

His presentation will explore how Utility DERMS can support DSOs in managing the growing complexity of distribution networks, from DER integration and flexibility management to forecasting, network optimization and AI-enabled decision support.

🔹 Drawing on our expertise alongside DSOs, the session will highlight practical applications across different time horizons, from long-term network readiness to real-time operations and grid resilience.

After participating in Enlit Europe for several years, we are pleased to once again be part of this key event for the international energy community.
From 10 to 12 November in Vienna, we look forward to meeting our clients, partners and industry peers, sharing experiences and discussing the transformation of electricity networks.

This year’s theme, “Integration. Resilience. Competitiveness.”, is closely connected to the challenges we work on every day at EDF International Networks.

🌍 The energy transition will not happen on its own. It will be driven by the sharing of experience, international cooperation, and the development of skills and capabilities.
 
Rising electricity demand, the electrification of end uses, network digitalization, evolving customer expectations, and workforce development are reshaping the utility sector worldwide. Across the globe, utilities are facing a profound transformation of their business models.
 
In this context, we were honored that our CEO, Sebastien Ruiz, was invited to speak and exchange views at the Impact Program on Powering Sustainable Energy Utilities, organized by the The World Bank Group in Rabat last week. The program brought together leaders and experts from the power sector to share their experience and perspectives on supporting the transformation of electricity distribution companies.

🖊️ The discussions highlighted several key challenges through practical examples and lessons learned from the EDF Group’s experience in electricity distribution, both in France and internationally. Topics included network planning, grid modernization, innovation, digitalization, the evolution of customer relationships, and the development of the skills required to successfully deliver the energy transition.

Because energy challenges are global, the exchange of knowledge and experience between utilities, institutions, and experts is more essential than ever to build electricity networks that are more efficient, resilient, and sustainable.
