Network automation in Serbia

EDF International Network is supporting Elektrodistribucija Srbije (EDS), the public electricity distributor in Serbia, in the large-scale modernization of its distribution network. This project aims to enhance the resilience, efficiency, and security of the network through automation, digitalization, and the integration of renewable energy sources.

EDF International Networks is providing coordination, supervision, and technical support for the implementation.

The project includes:

• Deployment of a unified Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) across 5 regional control centers

• Installation of Smart RMUs and reclosers to strengthen automation

• Modernization of substations with digital equipment

• Deployment of a telecommunications network combining fiber optics and radio links

• Development of a Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) module
