⚡ ANARE-CI Study Tour (Ivory Coast energy regulator): Anticipating the Power Grids of Tomorrow
In a context of growing electrification of end uses, the ANARE-CI study tour with EDF International Networks, through technical exchanges and site visits, pursued a clear objective: to better understand the transformation of the electricity distribution business in order to anticipate future evolutions of the regulatory framework.
🌍 A key challenge for Ivory Coast
The electrification of end uses represents a major opportunity for economic development and decarbonization. However, it is profoundly transforming the role of the distribution system operator, which is now required to manage more complex systems. This calls for a more proactive, more technical, and more forward-looking regulatory approach.
For ANARE-CI, understanding:
🔹 the approaches implemented in France to anticipate needs and plan network investments,
🔹 the operational challenges related to the day-to-day operation of the French network,
Means being better equipped to adapt the Ivorian regulatory framework in a timely manner.
👉 By drawing inspiration from these feedbacks and experiences, ANARE-CI strengthens its ability to anticipate the necessary regulatory evolutions to support the development of robust, flexible, and sustainable electricity networks, in line with public service objectives and long‑term energy policy goals.
