🌍 Sharing Network Expertise: A Joint Immersion with FEDA

We welcomed FEDA to Toulouse for a study tour dedicated to sharing expertise on electrical network professions.

Afterwards, FEDA hosted us in Andorra to continue the on‑site exchanges.
In Toulouse, the FEDA teams discovered several of our key areas of expertise:
• customer journey,
• producer connection studies,
• investment planning,
• organization of a supervision center,
• mapping innovations.

Two field immersions—low‑voltage connection and site inspection—illustrated operational realities and job requirements. There was also a discussion on our prevention, health, and safety policy.

In Andorra, FEDA welcomed us to delve deeper into grounding practices, operating rules, and enhanced safety measures, with on‑site assessments in distribution substations.
💡 It was a rich and productive week, strengthening operational versatility, skills development, expertise sharing, and the performance of both teams.

🌍 Compartint expertesa en xarxes: una immersió conjunta amb FEDA
Vam rebre FEDA a Tolosa per a un study tour dedicat a compartir expertesa sobre els oficis relacionats amb la xarxa elèctrica.

Després, FEDA ens va acollir a Andorra per continuar els intercanvis in situ.
A Tolosa, els equips de FEDA van descobrir diverses de les nostres àrees clau d’expertesa:
• el recorregut del client,
• estudis de connexió de productors,
• planificació d’inversions,
• organització d’un centre de supervisió,
• innovacions cartogràfiques.

Dues immersions de camp —connexió de baixa tensió i inspecció d’obra— van il·lustrar les realitats operatives i els requisits del métier. També vam mantenir un intercanvi sobre la nostra política de prevenció, salut i seguretat.
A Andorra, FEDA ens va acollir per aprofundir en les pràctiques de posada a terra, les normes d’explotació i el reforç de les mesures de seguretat, amb avaluacions in situ a les subestacions de distribució.

💡 Va ser una setmana rica i productiva, que va reforçar la versatilitat operativa, el desenvolupament de competències, el compartiment d’expertesa i el rendiment dels dos equips.

Together with our trusted partners, Capgemini and Honeywell Energy and Sustainability Solutions, EDF International Networks is proud to support Hydro One in their journey from AMI 1.0 to AMI 2.0 across Ontario ⚡

This next-generation smart metering infrastructure plays a pivotal role in enabling the clean energy transition — facilitating the integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), Electric Vehicles (EVs), and more. It empowers customers while enhancing grid management and operational efficiency.

Over the past two years, this journey has been both challenging and rewarding. We’re honored to contribute to this strategic transformation — deploying meters and network devices, and ensuring continuity and reliability of AMI services for Hydro One’s customers.

🔍 On the ground with the teams

Recently, our team visited the field alongside Operations Managers, Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, Electricians, Technicians, and other key personnel. These site visits were an incredible opportunity to engage directly with those driving daily operations — from supply chain and warehousing to meter installations for Residential and Commercial & Industrial customers, as well as quality audit activities.

We received a truly warm welcome 🤝 from professionals eager to showcase their work, share their challenges, and exchange insights on the 35-million smart meter rollout carried out by Enedis in France. The openness and curiosity we encountered made every discussion even more valuable.
As experts in energy distribution and AMI deployment, we recognize the complexity of field operations and the dedication it takes to keep everything running smoothly. The insights we gathered, centered on People, Process, and Technology, are already informing and strengthening our ongoing support.

💬 What impressed us most? The unwavering dedication, professionalism, and expertise of everyone we met. Their commitment and attention to detail are key drivers of this program’s success.
