🌏 Our expertise at the heart of a strategic AMI project: 11 million smart meters for MERALCO

EDF International Networks supported MERALCO, the largest electric utility in the Philippines, in its strategic mission to implement a large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project: 11 million smart meters over 10 years.

Our contribution is focused on two key areas:
📊 Conducting a cost-benefit analysis to demonstrate the project’s added value for all relevant stakeholders — end consumers, the utility, and the regulatory authority.
⚡ Representing the project as an expert witness in official hearings conducted by the national regulator (ERC) over the next four regulatory periods.

🌍 On the field in Addis Ababa: supporting Ethiopian Electric Utility’s SCADA transformation

Our experts, Mohamed, Fatima, and Hugo, continue their advisory mission with a single goal in mind: expert support at every stage of the project! 💡

In 2025, the rollout of the SCADA system marks a major milestone for EEU. With implementation well underway, our experts are on the ground, supporting every step of the journey.

Fatima Ezzahra Martaj, our Automation expert, had the opportunity to witness the scale of the project during her visit to the DCC, currently under construction, and contributed her expertise alongside the project team.

Mohamed SAIDI and Hugo Castaño Balereau were fully immersed with the operational teams during site visits for network maintenance operations, gaining firsthand insight into the expertise of EEU teams in action.

🌎 EDF International Networks had the pleasure to host a delegation from CIER – Comisión de Integración Energética Regional (the Latin American regional energy commission), with Electricity Operators from several Latin American countries.

During a whole week, EDF IN shared its experience on the French electricity landscape, and the implementation of smart and resilient grids and AMI solutions and organizations.
The program included technical presentations, expert insights, and a site visit to a primary substation in Amiens — offering a hands-on look at the realities of intelligent energy distribution.
